Congratulations to Ellinbank’s Lachlan Hedrick and Warragul Industrials Isaac Lalor.
On Wednesday night Lachlan was awarded the Ian Cooper medal for the best and fairest in the 2017 U/16 competition and Isaac awarded the Bill Cumming medal for the best and fairest in the U/18 competition. Both were presented with their medals at the league vote count at the GRV Warragul racetrack.
The U/16 leading goal kicker Josh Ferguson from Neerim South and U/18 leading goal kicker Justin Lockett also from Neerim South were also presented with trophies for topping the goal kicking table.
All the U/16 & U/18 interleague representatives were also presented with team photos.
In the U/16s at the half way mark of the season Hedrick with 10 votes trailed by two votes from Jai Newcombe from Poowong and Tyler Irving from the Dusties but he finished the season tremendously well polling a remarkable seven BOG’s in the second half of the season.

In the U18s Isaac Lalor polled 10 times and accumulated 26 votes to be five clear of Neerim South midfielder Cooper Clancy with another Cat Rhys George in third place with 19 votes. Isaac hit the front with three votes in round nine and was never headed thereafter. He consolidated his lead with successive BOG’s in rounds 14, 15 &16 to put the Bill Cumming medal in his keeping.
