Matthew Muller (2018)

Matthew Muller, has been a player, coach and administrator of SA Defence Basketball (SADB) over the period 2005 to 2018.

On the court, Matt was an inspirational basketballer and a highly skilled low post player. He combined these skills with craftiness on the pick and roll and a very accurate outside shot. He was admired by his peers at every level in which he competed. He was a member of successful SA Inter-Service teams, most notably elevating Woodside to claim the Inter-Service trophy for the first time in 2016. At ADFBA National level he was a member of the SA team which achieved a grand final appearance in 2012 for the first time in 18 years.
Succeeding as the SA Men’s Coach, he went onto earn Australian Team representation as Assistant Coach on tours over 2015-18.

As SADB State Representative, he displayed immense commitment to grow SADB, while maintaining an excellent standard in the conduct of SA Inter-Service tournaments. Matt has been an enormous contributor to SADB and the ADFBA.

SGT Muller (6th inductee) was inducted into the SADB Hall of Fame by John Spooner on Thu 29 Nov 18, during the conduct of the ADFBA National Championships at RAAF Edinburgh. In recognition of Matt Muller’s induction into the SADB Hall of Fame, the Men’s Inter-Service trophy is named the ‘Matt Muller Inter-Service Trophy.’
