“Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”
Want to be involved in the direction and running of Moreton Bay Basketball?
If you have any talent or ideas, MBBI are always looking for ways to improve the membership enjoyment.
If you just want to submit an idea, email it to the President at email@example.com.
If you have an idea and want to drive an idea and see it implemented, our President will welcome you with open arms and a grateful smile.
Moreton Bay Basketball Incorporated are looking for the services of volunteers to assist our Secretary/Treasurer with communication duties.
This is a great opportunity for a volunteer with the right skillset to help the association enhance it's communication levels to members and the Moreton Community.
In particular, we are short of coaches and managers. We have some coaches running 2 or 3 teams on Junior Game nights. As well as the work load and the stresses it causes on availabilty, it causes great difficulty in setting a draw where these coaches' team games do not clash and . So if a Board member or branch manager asks you to volunteer, please give it serious consideration. They will only ask you if they think you have the 'right stuff' to do it. We intend to run some coaching courses, referee courses and scorebench courses in the near future and we will give you as much support as you need. Also, consider what you get out of it: satisfaction of seeing children improve, the feeling that you had something to do with the joy on a child's face, the opportunity to make new friends and get so much more out of your or your child's sport. These two positions have a Volunteer Recogition Payment to assist.
As long time volunteer, Board member, Life Member and Scorebench Official Chris McDonell often says:
You will get so much more out of it
than what you put in.
Your child's sport will become your and your child's sport.
