This is the first year of the players players award being named after Yvette Andrews. For those who don't know Yvette Andrews, "Vetto" co-founded the league in 1998 and was one of the driving forces in the early years to get recognition from the men's leagues and administrations. Today's league stands on her and fellow early committee members shoulders. It is just and fitting that the player's player's award is named after Yvette Andrews.
This year's winner as voted by opposition teams was another tie. Last year was a tie between Krystle Thompson and Emmay Yuen. This year's tie was Roxy McGee (Newtown Breakaways) and Cynthia Dufaut (Western Wolves).
Roxy playing for the Newtown Breakaways transferred from the UNSW Stingrays at the start of the season. Roxy plays in the midfield and represented NSW as well this year. Unfortunately Roxy sufferred a broken hand/arm/wrist in the last minute of a Rd 12 against the Bondi Shamrocks which ruled her out of the finals series and grand final.
Cynthia Dufuat who is retiring this year has played all her career at the Western Wolves. Cynthia is one of the best centere half-forwards/ half-forwards in the league as well as representing NSW on numerous occassions.
