On the night we will be celebrating why we love footy through the commemoration of individual and collective brilliance.
Amongst the awards are:
Best and Fairest Award - this is awarded to an eligible player based on the cumulation of votes where the umpires choose the best and fairest 3 players from either side.
Best Rookie - a shortlist was created of the rookies at each club and then the umpires chose from that list using a Brownlow voting system.
Golden Boot - this is awarded to the leading goal kickers after the home and away round.
Golden Whistle - this is the first year of the Golden Whistle award awarded to the umpires. Here coaches and captains vote in a Brownlow voting style system for the best umpire which constitutes 50% of the vote. The other 50% votes come from the umpires themselves.
Players Players award - this award is one of the most prestigious awards voted by their opposition fellow peers at the end of each match.
Being the 10th year of women's football in season, we acknowledge the past by retelling the past and announcing the team of the decade. An independent panel composing of past and current players sifted from earlier nominations to annouce a representative team of the decade.
SWAFL wishes everyone to have a great time on the night and wishes all candidates the best of luck.
