After a great game in the men's firsts between 3rd placed UNSW-ES Bulldogs and 2nd placed Western Suburbs Magpies where the home team won, both men's teams formed a guard of honour to clap both women's teams onto the field. The spectators stayed behind to watch an enjoyable game where the Stingrays kept the Wolves in the first quarter for the score to be 2.6.18 to 0.0.0 after the first quarter. However from that stage the Wolves applied themselves to the game and worked accordingly to score 4,5 and 6 goals in the subsequent three quarters. The Stingrays enjoyed a huge cheer from the crowd when they kicked their solitary goal to Melissa Breuker but it was to be the Wolves to retain Compass Cup for another year. Many thanks to both clubs and men's clubs especially UNSW-ES President Ken Fowlie for putting a great event including the first portable pizza oven seen on the back of a ute courtesy of Randwick Doughboys Pizza.
This was the last league game for the Stingrays as they play the demonstration match against Macquarie University Warriors at noon at Village Green next Saturday.
Final score Wests 17.18.120 to Easts 1.0.6
