Round 12 Preview
3 games at Mahoney and a twilight match at Picken Oval.
Round 12 sees three games at Mahoney and a twilight match at Picken Oval as the places for final spots intensify.
The development game at 10am at Mahoney starts Round 12 sees Balmain taking on Macquarie University.
The 12pm match sees Newtown taking on the UNSW-Easts Stingrays. The Stingrays will be keen to finish off the season on a high, taking on one of the strongest teams in the competition whilst the Breakaways will be keen to continue to reassert their authority on the league.
The 2pm match sees the Bondi Shamrocks taking on the St George Dragons. The Dragons tried hard last Friday night but were simply outclassed considering they were forced to field five players who played their first game last week. The Bondi Shamrocks should
return to full strength after all their players have recovered from the NSW GAA league finals. A win by the Shamrocks will essentially mean they have prime position for the last finals spot.
The last match is the twilight match at 5pm will be at Picken Oval, Ashbury. The Wolves take on Sydney University in this must-win match for both sides. With Balmain having the development game, this is the opportunity for the Wolves to leap ahead to 2nd
spot and secure the double chance. The Wolves were simply awesome in the slippery Friday Night Lights game blowing away the Dragons in the first quarter
and will look to bring their positive momentum into this game.
For Sydney University it's a do or die match, as they really need to win this match and put pressure on the Shamrocks for the 4th placed finals position. If the Bombers lose and the Shamrocks win, then the Shamrocks will qualify for the finals. I think desperation by Uni will make this match an intriguing game at night.
With all teams playing on Saturday before having next weekend off, now is the time to create momentum for September action!
