Reminder of our Code of Conduct - Players & Parents

Attention all Woodville District Basketball Parents

It has recently been brought to our attention that there have been some instances throughout the early stages of Winter season where some of our parents courtside behaviour is not in line with our current code of conduct. The code of conduct is in place to protect all members of the team.

Please keep in mind our coaches are volunteering their time to help develop your child and each coach brings with them their own unique style. While you may not agree with every decision they make they make these decisions with the full support of the Woodville District Basketball Club board. If you feel you have a legitimate concern, as a parent, you are more than welcome to raise these issues with the coach or by sending an email to admin@woodvillewarrior.com.au.

Your child and his or her team mates are out on the court or at training to develop their basketball skills, learn to play in a team with many different personalities and cultural beliefs and have fun. As parents we would like you to enjoy watching the development of your child and support enthusiastically what we don’t want to see is parents yelling at your own or other children from the side lines. This puts undue pressure on your child, other people’s children and the coach and manager. We all want a safe environment for the kids to develop and the coaches to coach so ask that all parents adhere to this code of conduct.

Lets make Woodville great and a place where our players feel happy and safe.

The Board will be ensuring that this code of contact (see attached) is adhered to and enforce any penalties it deem necessary.

opponent or the other team.

• Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or
take unfair advantage of another player.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
