Welcome to the Warriors Nelson Kirksey

The Warriors community would like to welcome our men's import Nelson Kirksey! Nelson comes to us from the University of Missouri - Kansas City and Orsono, Chile (South America) where he played professionally. We hope you enjoy your stay in Adelaide, time with the team and have a successful year!

We asked Nelson a couple of questions to help get to know him:

1. Can you tell us a little about your basketball career so far?

I started my college career college at Jacksonville College; a junior college in east Texas. After two years I transfer to the University of Missouri at Kansas City where spent my last years of college.  I played professionally in Orsono, Chile (South America) for my rookie year 2014-2015. And now im ready to bring my game and everything I have to the Woodville Warriors representing them right!!

2. Who is your favourite Basketballer (or sporting idol) and why?

My favorite basketball player is Derrick Rose because of his style of play and his will to get wherever and do whatever he wants to do. And even after his injuries I still believe he’ll be the player he once was. But I do respect athlete like Floyd Mayweather, Kobe Bryant, and Usain Bolt because of their work ethic. They are the hardest working athletes in the sports world in my opinion.

3. What is your favourite Basketball team and why?

I do not have a favorite basketball team and never really did. But I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan by nature.

4. Where did you grow up and what is your favourite childhood memory and why?

I grew in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One of my favorite childhood memories is spending a week at a place called Surf City.  Huge Beach, lots of land and lots of kids. Best time of my life!

5. What is your favourite food (or meal)?

One of my favorite meals is a good ol Pot Roast. But I love all kinds of foods and am yet have found a dish that makes me go crazy over.

6. What do you hope to bring and/or what do you hope to achieve and/or what are you looking forward to from your upcoming experience in Australia?

First thing first, I am striving to win a championship. I also want to find and build relationships while exploring the beautiful land of Australia.
