"The Australian Government has recently launched a web-site focusing on concussion in sport and it provides some useful information and resources for athletes, coaches, managers and parents around this important area.

Traditionally, basketball has not been seen as a high concussion risk sport, but of course this is a myth and the dynamic, 360-degree nature of our sport, coupled with the athleticism and size of the players makes concussion a real risk in basketball.

This site provides some valuable information and I would encourage you to have a look to improve your knowledge in this area, as well as assist network coaches gain a better understanding of how to deal with any potential concussion. It would also be worthwhile for team managers to visit the site, as often they are the “first port of call” for an injured athlete in a game or camp setting."

The site provides easy to access videos and resources that could be shared with your coaching networks.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
