2011 Pacific Games Organizing Committee Visit to P

Members of the 2011 Pacific Games Organizing Committee travelled to Palau in late November 20 meet with Palau NOC Executive Board to discuss preparations for the highly anticipated Pacific Games in Noumea, New Caledonia from 27th November to 10th September 2011. Team included Mr. David Boyd, Secretary General of the Pacific Games Council; Mrs. Pascale Bastienthiry, Chairwoman of the 2011 Pacific Games Organizing Committee; and Ms. Helene Wabete, Staff of the 2011 Pacific Games Organizing Committee.

Discussions included initial preparations such as venue updates, offered sports, athletes' and officials' accommodations, etc. The main purpose of the visit was to entice participating countries to participate in the Games. The PGOC also met with the national federations to and gave a short presentation of preparations that are currently underway and to answer any questions that the federations had in terms of participating in the Games.
