Palau Track & Field Association
On Wednesday February 15th 2017 the Palau Track and Field Association held a ribbon cutting ceremony of their new office located at the Track & Field facility. The project began last fiscal year to build a small office for the Palau Track & Field Sports Development Officer (SDO). The relocation of the new office is to help the SDO to be able to monitor, maintain the facility and also for athletics team to rest and prepare on their daily training for competition. Through the help of the Office of The President, Palau National Olympic Committee, Oceania Athletics Association (OAA) the project was able to be complete. The project was funded by a grant of the Government of India through Palau Office of the President in total of 10,000.00 USD, Palau National Olympic Committee 4,409.50 USD, Oceania Athletics Association (OAA) Special Grant 3,600.00 USD and additional 1,300.00 USD through fundraising events. Palau Noc Secretary General Mrs. Baklai Temengil Chilton along with Honorable Arnold R. Oilouch Vice President of the Republic of Palau, PTFA President Mr. Regis Akitaya , PTFA Vice President Mr. Uchel Tmetuchl, OAA President Mr. Geoffrey Gardner, OAA Chief Executive Officer Ms. Yvonne Mullins and Athletics Athletes Representative Mr. Keilan Kenny cut the ribbon during this short ceremony to officially open the office. OAA President Mr. Geoffrey Gardner and other members of OAA are here on island for a week for their Council meeting which is hosted here in Palau for the first time.
Palau Island Sports Education Program (PiSEP)
Palau NOC and Palau Island Sports Education Program (PiSEP) welcome Ms. Stephanie Ngirchoimei as the new Palau Islands Sports Education Program (PiSEP) Sports Education Officer. Ms. Ngirchoimei is also one of Palau’s top elite athletes who have represented Palau in Regional and International games on basketball, Volleyball and Softball. Her primary duty is to coordinate the delivery of the Palau Islands Sports Education Program (PiSEP). In ensuring a coordinated approach, the parallel job purpose is to develop Palau’s sports education (training and development) system. This includes implementing the Sports Education Framework in Oceania through strategic alliances with appropriate partners and to build the capacity of national sport federations’ volunteers and professionals and organize PiSEP courses. Welcome to our sports family Ms. Ngirchoimei and we look forward to working with you in the years to come.
