Team Palau Arrives in Singapore

Team Palau arrives safely in Singapore and is now settled in at the Games Village. Team Palau departed on Wednesday, 11 August 2010, to Singapore via Manila, Philippines. After spending one night in Manila they continued on to Singapore to take part in the First Youth Olympic Games. Palau will be represented in the sports of Athletics, Swimming and Weightlifting.

Team Palau is comprised of: Peoria Kosiba, Chef de Mission/Athletics Coach; Steven Patris, Co-Chef de Mission/Weightlifting Coach; Tina Shima, Swimming Coach; Rubie Joy "UB" Gabriel, Athletics; Rodman Teltull, Athletics; Maverick Faustino, Weightlifting; and Maria Gibbons, Swimming.

Palau also had the honor of being part of the Olympic Torch Relay. Palau's very own Maria Gibbons was nominated and selected to be a part of the Torch Relay as one of the torch bearers.
