Youth Team Sports Meet with Team Palau 2010 Coaches

June 17, 2010: The Youth Team Sports (YTS) representatives visiting Palau through the basketball program had the unique opportunity to share their experiences and give support to Palau National Coaches to the 2010 Micronesian Games. YTS members are Coaches David Wood and Todd Fuller are former NBA players and Dan Dix, the team leader, is a former international baseball coach. The YTS Coach Dix reminded the coaches “that it’s not easy to be a coach, but it is important to believe in every youth and an athlete and to aspire them to do extraordinary things in life through sport”. He continued to congratulate the coaches and also reminded them that they are not just coaches, but they are mentors and role models to the athletes and throughout Palau community. Chairman Akitaya of Team Palau 2010 expressed appreciation to the YTS coaches and assured them that their advice will be taken to heart as we prepare our athletes to the games in August.

Youth Team Sports is a Christian based group from USA who has travelled to many of the Micronesian Countries conducting clinics and spreading the message about the qualities in life that young people need to aspire to.
