In preparation to the Games in August, many volunteers are dedicating their time, efforts and expertise, to commit to the success of various aspect of the games delivery. One of the key components of the games delivery is the commitment to prepare meals, set up the cafeteria, wash dishes, busing the cafeteria floor, serving meals and making sure all athletes are well fed throughout the games. The Micronesian Games Organizing Committee (MGOC) is working diligently with Palau Community College leadership and cafeteria coordinator and staff to host the games catering and provide the meal venue for the athletes and officials during the games. In addition, the Ministry of Education cooks and staff has agreed to help in serving, as well as busing, cleaning dishes, etc…to support the meals time of the athletes during the games. All meals are catered by various local vendors who are also committed to ensure that all the food are up to par in meeting the athletes needs in August. “The Games just cannot do without the commitment of every Palauan and residence of Palau, to ensure that we meet all the services of the games and our community and visitors alike get to enjoy the performances of our young people through sport”, as stated by Mr. Frank Kyota, Chairman of the games. It is important that our Volunteers have the commitment and to also be able to enjoy the games. The Micronesian Games Organizing Committee is still recruiting Volunteers until July 2010.
