The first home game for the Pioneers is set to be a cracker with both teams looking for their first win of the season. The Pioneers will follow their captain Amanda Frost as she leads by example, Frost is averaging 18.5 points per game. Emily Winter is not far behind as she averages 14 points per game. The Tigers will look to have a better-shooting percentage this week after only shooting 31 per cent from the field in their loss to the Bearcats this past weekend.

The Pioneers experienced an up and down first couple days to their maiden Premier League season but there is plenty to like. The strong play of Kentrell Barkley and Tom Daly will give the side a lot of confidence heading into their game this week. Their defence has also looked fairly strong to start the season and their bench players have provided very valuable minutes thus far. They’ll need to continue down that path if they want to beat a Tigers team eagre to put their loss to the Bearcats behind them. Southern had good production from Turnage, Drmic and Omamogho but were not able to overcome the tight defence and inside presence of the Bearcats. However, look for them to bounce back in what should be a tight contest with the Pioneers at the Ice House.
