ROUND TWELVE: North Adelaide Rockets v Central District Lions

WOMEN by Kieren Vartuli

A bottom end of the table clash will see the Rockets take on the Lions who are still searching for their opening 2019 win. Despite the Lions’ struggles this season, Jazmen Boone may be able to exploit the stronger Rockets with the offensive threat in Perez-Crespo. In what is looking to be a tight contest, the Lions may just scrape by and earn their first W of the year. Although, with an always dangerous threat in Corrigan and DeFrancesco, the Lions may struggle to overcome the inside and outside opportunists. This one may not be pretty on paper, but just might go down to the wire.

MEN by Daniel Renfrey

The Rockets got an important 73-85 win over the Warriors in Round 11 and can credit their hard-nosed defence. The team kept Woodville to 42% shooting from 2-point range and forced 13 turnovers, recording 4 blocks and 8 steals while doing so. The widespread scoring amongst the starting 5 for North Adelaide was also key, and reflects how fluid their offence can be. The Lions also had a successful Round 11, upsetting Norwood 102-94. The team was extremely impressive from long distance, hitting 14-20. Riewer was a standout for the side, hitting 8-8 3s on his way to 29 points and 7 rebounds. With both teams able to find significant success on both ends of the court, this game should be a close one. It is hard to see the Lions repeating their 3-point line success and quelling the widespread offence of the Rockets.
