ROUND TWO: Eastern Mavericks vs Norwood Flames

WOMEN

It's a bit early to be pressing alarm bells at Norwood, but a hand would be hovering over the
button. Following a disappointing weekend where Norwood started the season 0-2, the Flames
will be looking to regroup against a Mavericks team that also lost its opening game. The
Mavericks went down in a low scoring match at home to the Forestville Eagles. Both sides will
be desperate to get a win on the board for the 2019 season.

Hang Time Prediction: Eastern Mavericks

MEN

The Mavericks will be disappointed in their Round One performance after losing 72-112 to Forestville. The team’s offence struggled to overcome the stifling defence of the Eagles and only managed to shoot 6-30 from distance and 50% from the free-throw line. The Mavs were also easily beaten on the boards, something which will have to be rectified come Friday. On the other hand, Norwood are on fire. With two convincing wins in the first week of the season it looks like they could be the early pace-setters in the League. The addition of Brandon Brine seems to be the perfect fit next to Lycett and Legan, resulting in a high-calibre offence and improved defence. If these key players can keep clicking it is hard to see the Flames losing.

Hang Time Prediction:  Norwood Flames
