AFL Victoria will provide four female coaches with the opportunity to attend the 2013 AFL Coaches’ Conference at Etihad Stadium from February 8-10. The scholarships are supported by VicSport as part of their Women in Sport Leadership grants program and are valued at $360 each providing the successful applicants with full access to all conference sessions. The annual conference is a fantastic opportunity to hear from and learn from some of the best elite and community based coaches in the country. Participants have many opportunities to engage in practical sessions as well as theory based workshops and to network with over four hundred coaches from all over Australia.
Presenters currently confirmed for the conference include:
- Current AFL Senior Coach - Michael Malthouse (Carlton)
- Former AFL Senior Coaches - Stan Alves (AFL Coaching Ambassador), Gary Ayres (Port Melbourne FC), Jeff Gieschen (AFL Umpires’ Manager); Peter Schwab (AFL Director of Coaching);
- Current AFL Club Coaching and support staff - Dale Amos (Geelong Cats), Scott Borlace (Brisbane Lions), Mathew Capuano (Carlton), Adrian Fletcher (Brisbane Lions), Paul Hood (Geelong Cats), Jason Lappin (North Melbourne), Brett Munro (Gold Coast Suns), Mark Riley (Gold Coast Suns), Glenn Stewart (West Coast Eagles);
- Consultant experts - Kevin Ball (kicking), Michelle Cort (nutrition), Anthony Klarica (psychology), Ernie Merrick (Former Melbourne Victory Coach), Leigh Russell (branding & communication), Jenny Williams (high performance strategy).
