Box Hill Secondary College will offer a new specialist football program for girls from 2011.
GIRLS FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
“Box Hill Senior Secondary College offers a unique sport development program specializing in Australian rules football for females".
The School has both past and current players competing in the VSSSA Under 16 State school squad, Interleague and 2009 Victorian u18 representative squad Caitlyn Wilson, and past Youth Girl Representative 2009 Victorian Squad Rebecca Pearce.
Box Hill Senior Secondary is considered by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) as a ‘specialist sports school’ therefore the students can combine both academic studies with the intense passion for their chosen sport.
The program includes:
- weekly physiotherapy assessments
- cardio vascular sessions
- speed and agility session
- weights and conditioning sessions
Skills sessions will include:
- Biomechanical kicking analysis
- Game sense and tactical coaching.
