The annual Casey Scorpions Pink Ribbon Charity Day in the Peter Jackson VFL will have a woman's touch to it this year, with a VWFL game to feature as the curtain raiser at Casey Fields on Saturday.
Division 1 VWFL clubs Cranbourne and Knox will clash in a 2nd versus 5th battle, with the game to provide a thrilling intro to the VFL match after nothing separated the two teams in Round 5 earlier this season.
The ladder is set for a shake up at the end of the round, with third placed North Geelong facing seventh placed Darebin, with St Kilda and Bendigo meeting in a fourth versus sixth battle.
The day at Casey Fields sees the Casey Scorpions raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation during its match against Geelong at 2pm.
Casey’s fundraising efforts for the NBCF began in 2007 as a brunch and the club’s Pink Ribbon Day is now one of its major events.
This year, the day includes a luncheon featuring a guest speaker from the NBCF, as well as raffles and auctions.
Casey players will also wear pink jumpers donated by CGR Sportswear for the game, a tradition started in 2009.
Fundraising activities will be taking place around the ground, with the club having raised $100,000 for the NBCF since 2007 and is aiming to raise $20,000 this year.
The VWFL Division 1 game will start at 11:25am.
