It does not matter what way you will watch or listen to the game, you will be well prepared for the game after reading our armchair guide to the VWFL players in the game.
You might have heard the names on radio this week or read about them in the paper, but find out now what clubs these women are from, where they play at club level and some other interest facts about each of the VWFL players in the game.

WESTERN BULLDOGS
1 Stephanie Simpson (Darebin Falcons): A very quick half forward who can kick goals. Can play on wing also where her pace is damaging and delivery of the football is very good.
2 Elise O’Dea (Darebin Falcons): Young girl who is quickly cementing her position in the midfield with her strong attack on the ball and great kicking skills. Can also play forward and kick goals
3 Aasta O’Connor (Darebin Falcons): First ruck at Darebin with an exceptional leap and aerial contest work. Can play forward as a goal kicking option but can go back to negate opposition making her very versatile.
4 Karen Paxman (Darebin Falcons): Midfielder, Karen can run all day, with enormous endurance, a deadly kick, Karen can play all over the ground and hurt oppositions with her speed and skill.
5 Emma Kearney (Melbourne Uni): Natural athlete who has excelled in multiple sports. Midfielder who can win her own footy and break open backs with her excellent core strength. Can play anywhere on the ground.
6 Madeline Keryk (Melbourne Uni): One of the toughest and hardest females playing the game which says a lot because of her age. She's always at the bottom of every pack getting the ball out for her teammates.
7 Brooke Whyte (Melbourne Uni): A defender/midfielder who is strong in the air and reads the ball exceptionally well. What she may give away in height to marking forwards she makes up for with her ability to get best position and kill a contest.
9 Rebecca Privitelli (Darebin Falcons): Plays at Full forward with strong hands and a deadly kick. Can also play back on a dangerous forward and win the ball in the air which is invaluable to the team.
11 Lauren Spark (Melbourne Uni): Ruckman/Forward/Defender with great hands and attack on the footy. Ex-national beach volleyballer she has an outstanding leap. Good skills and a hunger to compete.
12 Louise Stephenson (Melbourne Uni): Utility who can play back, forward, wing or in the ruck. She has a huge engine and running capacity and a lovely long left foot. Developed into a strong marking footballer. CLICK HERE for a video profile on Louise.
13 Lauren Arnell (Darebin Falcons): Forward midfielder whose skills and evasiveness prove a real handful on game day. Can kick goals and links up around the ground.
16 Katie Brennan (Darebin Falcons): Plays at CHF where she can dominate a game. Great lead with strong hands and a booming kick. Can pitch hit on ball and very good at ground level making her hard to stop.
17 Stephanie Chiocchi (Diamond Creek): Utility. One of the league’s best players, Her abilities are something to behold. Co Captain Diamond Creek, she has an innate skill to bamboo all her opposition.
18 Moana Hope (St Kilda): Takes a 14 goal performance into the game. She has taken five years away from representative football but her passion has returned in season 2014! She is a naturally gifted player and has an amazing skill in finding the goals from anywhere on the field.
22 Natalie Wood (Darebin Falcons): Half back/Midfielder. Can do a defensive role when called upon to do so and then step up on the wing where her pace is dangerous. Hard player to match up on.
23 Lauren Moorcroft (Diamond Creek): Back pocket. One of the VWFL’s best defenders, an amazing ability to read the play and take strong contested marks in defence. Vic Metro Vice Captain.
25 Darcy Vescio (Darebin Falcons): Plays mostly forward. Can play back with very strong marking ability. A young girl who keeps her eyes on the ball. Has played on ball recently at Darebin and enjoys the game. CLICK HERE for a video profile on Darcy.
MELBOURNE
9 Ellie Blackburn (Melbourne Uni): Extremely talented footballer with rare football smarts. She has a booming right boot and is an asset in the midfield and up forward. She is really strong in the contest and is a clearance specialist .
11 Lou Wotton (Eastern Devils): Ruck. Dual Helen Lambert medallist, as best and fairest in the VWFL, is a long time captain of the Eastern Devils and four times best and fairest. Strong leadership, good foot skills, and the ability to run all day.
12 Kaitlyn Ashmore (Melbourne Uni): Super quick half back flanker with outstanding agility that makes her hard to tackle. Her kicking has turned into a big asset, which is crucial for a running half back. CLICK HERE for a video profile on Kaitlyn.
16 Mel Hickey (Darebin Falcons): Plays at CHB where she controls and leads the back half line. Beats her opponent regularly in the air and on the ground. A great competitor who never gives up.
18 Alicia Eva (Melbourne Uni): Live wire winger/small forward. Great skills and reads the ball very well. Sets up play and uses her superior footy smarts to get best position.
25 Meg Hutchins (Eastern Devils): Players CHB. Started career up forward, but in recent years she has dominated across centre half back where her ability to read the ball and run hard from defence has spoiled many oppositions attempts to go forward. CLICK HERE for a video profile on Meg.
30 Dianna Haines (Diamond Creek): Plays CHB.Is a true defender who is never beaten in a contest. Strong and uncompromising. As a leader, not many would surpass her. Diamond Creek Co Captain.
31 Daisy Pearce (Darebin Falcons): Midfielder. Darebin Captain who leads by example, most determined with excellent skills on both sides of the body and can play anywhere. Great leader, great knowledge of the game.
33 Bree White (VU St Albans): Bree has a high level of football knowledge, along with her determination and dedication. These traits have made her a valuable member of the midfield group and captain, as she leads by example.
37 Phoebe McWilliams (St Kilda): She is a versatile player and can literally run in the midfield or backline but is most valuable flying for huge marks in the forward line. She is a lifelong Demons fan and cannot wait to represent her beloved club on Sunday!
