St Johns Old Collegians Women's Footballer Jessie Krznaric, will play her 100th VWFL game in Round 7 of the VWFL season, against Scoresby.
Jessie started her footy as a youth girl for the women’s Parkmore side in 2004 but a gradual decline of players forced the team to fold in 2006. Still intent on playing footy, Jessie along with many of the Parkmore players migrated to Keysborough Women’s Football Club halfway through the 2006 season. There she played until 2009, playing as a rock in the back line, with a unique kicking style.
She reached her 50 games and was awarded most improved during her time with The Burras. A long time mate and player describes Jessie as a caring, loving and big personality at the club on and off the field. Along with her on field importance, she was involved in organising a lot of fundraising, social nights and raffles to keep the club functioning.
In 2011 she decided it was time to move on and has been with the JOCS ever since. The amicable left footer, calls a 'spade a spade' and plays in a similar fashion. Her skills and fitness have improved immensely this season along with her no nonsense attack on the footy. She has been a prominent and reliable defender with the JOCS but can be called upon to play forward when required.
Jessie enjoys the social side of the footy environment and has been extremely busy organising fundraising but when it's time to get serious however, Jessie is a reliable team mate and focuses on achieving nothing but the best for the JOCS.
Having played 9 seasons with the VWFL, expect to see Jessie achieving plenty more on & off the field.
We are proud to be sharing it with Jessie and on behalf of all the JOCS and past team mates, good luck with your 100th game!
GO JOCS!
Head to Thomas Carroll Reserve on Sunday to witness St John's host Scoresby at 12 pm.
