Weekly Wrap - Harbour players help NZ U15's to wins

The New Zealand Men’s and Women’s teams have made a good start at the FIBA U15 Oceania Cup in Canberra, both recording comfortable wins against Samoa.
The men won 114-70 with all four Harbour players making contributions.
Lincoln Wilson had 11 points and 7 rebounds, Daley Pohio scored 10 points, Malakhai Joyner 8 and Noah Duncan 6,
The women won 82-45, Imani Rasmussen impressing with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
NCAA Division I
Mackenzie Chatfield (Sophomore at Western Kentucky) made 5 from 9 threes on her way to a career high 19 points against Indiana State. Given limited opportunities in her freshman year the former Harbour and Westlake standout only scored 19 points in the whole of last season!
Mackenzie followed that with 7 points and 6 steals in the 104-49 win against Kentucky State.
Emme Shearer (Senior at Portland) scored 15 points in a 76-65 home win against Rebecca Moors and the University of Hawaii. Emme becomes the 13th Kiwi to pass 1,100 points in NCAA Women’s Division I hoops and just the third former Harbour rep to have reached that milestone following in the footsteps of Micaela Cocks and Akene-Tera Reed.
Izzy Pugh (Freshman at Wisconsin, Milwaukee) After posting 3 rebounds and 3 assists in 84-81 overtime loss at St Thomas the former teammate of Mackenzie Chatfield came up big in game two of the season with 14 points (6 from 8FG), 4 rebs and 1 block in a 74-49 win over Carroll.
Tom Beattie (Sophomore at Hawaii) scored 13 points on 6 from 8 shooting in 96-61 win against LIFE Pacific and followed that with a career high 16 points in the 80-69 victory against San Jose State.
NAIA
Rashaan Smith was within a single rebound of a double-double when posting 12 points, 9 boards and 3 bocks as Oklahoma Wesleyan suffered a 78-63 loss to Texas Wesleyan.
NCAA Division II
Sean Murphy scored 14 points on 6 from 8 shooting as Lubbock Christian University (2-2) went down 92-83 to Regis.
Kiani Saxon stuffed the stats sheet with 11 points 4 rebounds and pairs in assists, steals and blocks as Missouri Western beat Northern State 75-61.
Parahuia Delamere contributed 12 points, 4 rebounds plus a brace of steals and assists as Young Harris lost 78-70 to North Georgia.
NCAA Division III
Boston Caldwell made an encouraging debut for Keystone College despite its 74-60 loss to Misericordia. Boston finished with 14 points and 3 rebounds.
Junior College
Rocco Chang filled the stats line with 15 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals as Central Maine College proved too good for Maine Augusta winning 101-57.
BNZ Northern Kāhu
BNZ Northern Kāhu were upended 69-66 by Mainland Pouākai at Eventfinda Stadium in the Tauihi League.
Penina Davidson had a massive double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds in the defeat.
The Kāhu meet Tokomanawa Queens in a top of the table clash on Thursday November 14 at Eventfinda Stadium. The Rapid League game starts at 6.30pm with the Tauihi fixture tipping-off at 7.30pm.
Breakers and Australian NBL
In Round 6 of the Australian NBL Rob Loe enjoyed a career night as Melbourne United inflicted a home loss on Brisbane Bullets winning 120-103.
Rob drained to a career best 30 points dropping six threes (also a personal best) in the process.
Tai Webster added 6 assists to 14 points as Perth Wildcats protected home court to beat Tasmania Jack Jumpers 88-82.
Despite the Cairns Taipans slipping to a seventh consecutive defeat Sam Waardenburg continues to put up good numbers. In the 97-74 loss to South East Melbourne Sam scored a team high 16 points.
This weekend they entertain the BNZ Breakers who saw their run of good results came to an end in Tasmania when they went down 83-64 to the Jack Jumpers with Sam Mennenga adding 7 rebounds to 13 points.
The Breakers are not back in Auckland again until December 12 when they take on Tasmania Jack Jumpers at Eventfinda Stadium, tip-off at 7.30pm.
Other Action
After recently playing in Finland Kruz Perrott-Hunt has signed with BC Komarno in Slovakia.
Isaac Fotu put up some big numbers as Tochigi Brex got the better of Hokkaido Sapporo on both occasions in its Japanese League double header. Isaac had 20 points and 6 rebounds in a 96-68 win and followed that with 19 points and 8 rebounds in an 88-79 victory.
Also in Japan, Dan Fotu had 10 points and 5 rebounds as Gifu Swoops went down 81-73 to Kanazawa.
James Moors put up 15 points and 7 rebounds as Union Mons went down 79-68 in the Belgium League to Mechelen.
