Jack Salt headed to Brisbane, Zach Riley scores 32 points

Congratulations to Jack Salt on signing with the Brisbane Bullets for the 2021-22 Australian NBL season.

Jack is currently playing in the New Zealand Sal’s NBL for Canterbury Rams and celebrated with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Rams held off Nelson Giants to win 95-90.

Zach Riley was immense for the Auckland Huskies as they secured a Sal’s NBL Final Four place with a 91-90 home win against the Taranaki Mountainairs.

The Harbour U19 rep is having a tremendous season for the Huskies. Having scored a career best 24 points in Nelson in the last round he extended his personal best to 32 on 9 from 13 shooting that included 4 from 5 from beyond the arc whilst playing the full 40 minutes.

Mountainairs forward Scott Telfer enjoyed being back in familiar surroundings scoring 12 points.

Brayden Inger scored 18 points as Southland Sharks also booked a semi-final place after a 117-93 home win against Otago Nuggets.

Franklin Bulls went down 119-85 to the Giants in Nelson but were well served by Denhym Brooke (20 points and 8 rebounds) and Jaylen Gerrand (14 points).

In the Australian NBL1 South Conference Nunawading Spectres made it four wins on the trot as Penina Davidson contributed 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the 88-70 defeat of Hobart Chargers.

Townsville Flames, with Micaela Cocks scoring 10points, improved to 7-2 in NBL1 North with a 90-49 demolition of Cairns Dolphins.

Brooke Blair scored 13 points for Brisbane but the Capitals were beaten at home 68-62 by Mackay.

Back in the South Conference Mitch Dance came up with 19 points and 9 rebounds but it couldn’t prevent Albury Wodonga going down 107-90 against Hobart in the Men’s NBL1 Southern Conference.
