High scoring Harbour players shine on both sides of Tasman.

No fewer than eight former Harbour players scored in double figures in the top leagues currently in progress either side of the Tasman.

In Australia Mitch Dance is making every post a winner in the NBL1 Southern Conference. He piled on 58 points over the weekend as Albury Wodonga beat Eltham 93-85 followed by a win at Sandringham Sabers 89-83. Mitch scored a career high 37 points against Sandringham.

In the Women’s Southern Conference Penina Davidson had 15 points and 9 rebounds as Nunawading Spectres thumped Waverley Falcons 93-57.

Brooke Blair scored a team high 23 points with 5 of 9 made from beyond the arc as Brisbane Capitals beat Rockhampton Cyclones 84-58 in the NBL1 Northern Conference.

Also in the Northern Conference Micaela Cocks produced a game high 25 points as Townsville Flames defeated Rip City 75-53.

In the New Zealand National Basketball League Jack Salt made a successful return to the Canterbury Rams lineup following a 4-week injury lay-off.

The former Harbour, Westlake and Virginia University centre had 8 points and 5 rebounds as the Rams beat Franklin Bulls 87-71 in Pukekohe last Thursday night.

Auckland Huskies came away from the challenging Southern-Swing with a pair of victories beating Southland Sharks 93-92 after overtime in Invercargill on Saturday and Otago Nuggets 93-70 in Dunedin 24 hours later.

Zach Riley played 27 minutes against Otago scoring 11 points and putting in his usual resilient defensive shift.

Brayden Inger scored 20 points in a losing cause for Southland.

Scott Telfer scored 11 points as Taranaki Mountainairs defeated Manawatu Jets 104-93 when the bottom two clubs faced off on Friday in New Plymouth.

Finally rookie Jett Thompson scored 12 points as the Franklin Bulls almost caused an upset before going down 95-90 to the Hawkes Bay Hawks in Napier.
