Alex Stojkovic - Farewell

Since 2004 Alex has worked for Harbour Basketball for nearly seven years, only leaving for a brief stint in Tauranga.

“When I first came to Harbour I was working as an in-schools coach which I really enjoyed, I then moved on to be the Harbour Heat Operations Manager and then work as the Development Officer. During that time I was also Assistant Coach for the Harbour Heat and coached the Heat Reserves.

Since my return to Harbour in March 2010, I have been really enjoying working as the Development Officer again.

Harbour Basketball, to me, is like my family. I have grown immensely in not only my roles but my knowledge and abilities to be a better coach. While I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here it is time for me to move forward in another direction.

Some of my personal highlights have been winning a title with the U21 Women in 2011 and U23 Men in 2013. I also really liked coaching the Heat Reserves in 2006 to the CBL finals weekend and of course having the opportunity to coach the Harbour Heat in 2012.

I can honestly say that I have met some amazing people in my time here and have developed lifelong friendships through my roles. Harbour Basketball will always have a place in my heart.

I wish Harbour Basketball all the best with its future endeavours and will no doubt still see a lot of you around.”
