CLUBS across the Western Region Football League have taken a stand against social violence.
St Albans, Yarraville Seddon, Caroline Springs, Sanctuary Lakes, Tarneit, Spotswood, Laverton, North Sunshine, Albanvale, Sunshine and the Wyndham Suns are all taking part in Step Back Think’s dedicated Lace Up Week campaign.
The campaign sees all participating clubs swap their footy laces for orange ones, in a bid to raise awareness of social violence, which includes one-punch assaults, pub brawls and street fights.
According to figures released by the Social Violence Register, 20 people across the country died from social violence last year.
Last weekend, both the Sunshine and Caroline Springs Football Clubs wore orange laces, with both clubs hoping that by raising awareness of this important issue, that one day can eradicate social violence from our community.
