KEILOR have ended the regular season on top of the Senior Women’s ladder after defeating rivals Manor Lakes at the weekend.
The Blues have been a dominant force in the inaugural season. They finished the regular season undefeated, in first place on the ladder and boasts a percentage of 2855% and on Sunday, they defeated the Storm by 91-points.
Keilor kept their opposition scoreless over the first three quarters. Manor Lakes duo Yana Frontczak and Kellee Mcintosh kicked their only two goals in final term.
It was a complete performance by Keilor, who had 27 scoring shots to six.
Sarah Wright led the way with four goals. Jill McBain was named best on ground.
Keilor’s Brooke Todero ended the season on top of the goal kicking tally, she booted an impressive 57 goals this season. Manor Lakes’ Kellee Mcintosh was second with 51 goals.
Both Keilor and Manor Lakes will go head-to-head this Sunday in Semi Final 2 at Burnside Heights.
Caroline Springs will also head into their finals match with Sunbury all guns blazing after defeating Tarneit 10.13. (73) to 1.2. (8) at Wootten Road Reserve.
The Lakers had a great spread of goal kickers, eight players hit the scoreboard. Caitlin Pretty was the leading goal scorer, she ended the match with three goals next to her name. Krystyn Raymundo was names best on ground.
Tarneit’s Madeline Johnson was their only goal scorer.
Fellow finals aspirant, Sunbury, also ended the season on a high note. The Lions defeated Craigieburn by 37-points on Saturday afternoon.
Iesha Lauaki kicked three goals in the 6.4. (40) to 0.3. (3) win.
Roxburgh Park scored its third win of the season, after they defeated Glen Orden by 17-points at Lakeside Oval.
Finally, Pascoe Vale defeated Glenroy by 71 points. The win was their sixth of the season.
Stephanie Normington-Dickens booted four goals in the win, Sarah Dargan also kicked three goals.
Finals will begin this Sunday. The first round of finals will be played at Burnside Heights. Entry is free.
