ALBANVALE fought back from a 22-point deficit at three-quarter time to score a 13-point win against the Yarraville Seddon Eagles, in what was their best win of the season.
The Cobras took full advantage of the scoring end in the final term as they kicked six goals to one to pull off a stunning come-from-behind win.
The wind played a big part in the game, with 18 goals scored with the wind and only three scored against the wind in what was a seesawing affair.
The Eagle’s accuracy was also off, as they registered just nine goals to go with 14 behinds, while Albanvale made the most of their opportunities on the other hand, with a respectable 12 goals to go with nine behinds.
David Azzopardi was the most influential player on the ground with five goals for the day, the biggest return of any forward in Division 2, as he takes his season tally to 20.
Ibrahim Atik was also impressive with two goals, while Jarryd Formosa continued his strong form this season for the Cobras.
In Round 12’s other matches, North Footscray continued their premiership assault with a comprehensive win over Manor Lakes, with a six goal third quarter to the Storm the only blip on the Devils radar.
Meanwhile, Newport Power survived a scare from cellar-dwellers West Footscray, as Newport kicked six goals to one in the final term to turn a 22-point deficit into a 17-point win.
This weekend, West Footscray will have a chance to take a major scalp as they host the vulnerable Yarraville-Seddon at home.
It is the first time this year the Eagles have lost two in a row, and they could find themselves out of form if they don’t produce a solid performance this weekend.
Albanvale will be hoping to take another major scalp this weekend as they play ladder-leaders North Footscray, but will have belief in their corner following their stunning performance last weekend.
Finally, Manor Lakes host Newport, who they should account for following a solid patch of form.

NORTH Footscray is set to secure a second place finish in the Division 2 Reserves after securing a 20-point win against Manor Lakes.
The Devils were off to a dominant start with four goals in the first quarter, opening up a 25-point lead.
To Manor Lakes’ credit, the Storm showed some fight in the second quarter, but still found themselves behind on the scoreboard.
The Storm were the better team in the second half, but tricky conditions and North Footscray’s better first half display was enough to score the victory.
The final score was 9.11. (65) to 6.9. (45).
Matt Walsh starred again for the Devils with four goals.
The Yarraville Seddon Eagles returned back to winning ways, after last rounds loss, by thumping the Cobras 14.16 (100) to 3.8 (26).
Meanwhile at the Bryan Martyn Oval, the game between Newport Power and West Footscray was washed out after one of the goal posts broke before the game due to the wind.
