LADDER leaders North Footscray will go head-to-head with rivals the Yarraville Seddon Eagles this Saturday, with the two teams playing for the Love the Game Cup.
The Love the Game match, to be played at McLean Reserve in Spotswood, is about encouraging our community to better understand the risks associated with gambling.
The last time both Yarraville and North Footscray met, the Devils, had too much class, winning by 50-points. However the Eagles have been playing some good footy over the past couple of weeks.
At the weekend, the Yarraville Seddon Eagles defeated West Footscray by 109-points.
Matthew Taylor and Jack Hargreaves scored 13 goals between them. However it was Luke Simpson, who was awarded best on ground honours.
For the Roosters, Tobi Bray was named its best player. Corey Irving also played well, he kicked three goals.
West Footscray will be hoping for a better output this week when they take on Manor Lakes.
North Footscray’s perfect season continued, the Devils dismantled Albanvale, in another complete performance at Hansen Reserve.
The final score was 20.15. (135) to 5.11. (41).
Only 21-points separated the two sides at the half-time break, but an inspired display by the Devils in the second half was the difference.
North Footscray kicked 13-goals to one in the second half and finished with 11 different goal kickers.
Tyren Montebruno was the top goal scorer, he kicked four goals.
In the final game of the round, Manor Lakes defeated Newport Power by 69-points.
The Power were no match for the Storm, who extended their lead at every break.
Jackson Lesko kicked four goals for Manor Lakes and was one of the best players on the ground.
The Power will be aiming for the second win of the season, when they take on Albanvale at Robert Bruce Oval.
DEVILS READY FOR CLASH WITH EAGLES

THE Devils thrashed the Cobras by 203-points in their Round 8 clash at the weekend.
The Cobras only managed to score one-point to half-time while the Red Devils reach 100.
In the second half the North Footscray continued to control possession, scoring another 105-points, with Albanvale again only scoring one-point.
The final score was 30.25 (205) to the Cobras 0.2 (2).
Matthew Walsh ended the game with 11 goals to his name. He has kicked 50 goals this season.
The Yarraville Seddon Eagles continued their perfect season after easing past West Footscray by 84-points.
The Eagles came out firing in the first quarter, scoring the first five goals.
The Roosters finally got their first goal in the second quarter, but the lead continued to get bigger, with the margin out to 41-points at the main break.
In the second half the Eagles added 8 more goals to their tally, the final score was 15.9 (99) to 2.3 (15).
Harry Price of the Eagles was named the best player on the pitch.
Meanwhile, at the Bryan Martyn Oval, Newport Power won against Manor Lakes in a seesawing game.
The Power had a strong first quarter scoring four goals and gained a 19-point lead. However, in the second quarter thanks to Manor Lakes’ Luke Styles three goals they were able to pull back the momentum and actually take the lead at half-time.
Newport Power again fought back in the third quarter and did enough to hold on and win. The final score was Newport Power 10.5. (65) to Manor Lakes 8.5. (53)
