TARNEIT fell short of scoring their first victory of the Senior Women’s football season, losing to Roxburgh Park by one-point at Wootten Road Reserve on Sunday.
The Titans led by five points at three quarter time, but only managed to score a single point in the final term, with Roxburgh Park kicking a goal and a point, winning the match 4.2. (26) to 3.7. (25).
The home side would be disappointed with the result, considering they had four more shots on goal.
Madeline Johnson was named the best on ground for the Titans, she kicked a goal and was influential across the ground. Georgia Andriske and Louise Thomas also kicked goals.
Manor Lakes also scored their fourth win of the season, defeating Caroline Springs at Town Centre Oval on Friday night.
Only 12-points separated the two sides at half-time, but a six goal to one second half saw the Storm claim the important victory.
The final score was 10.9. (69) to Caroline Springs 3.3. (21).
Kellee Mcintosh was at her accurate best in front of goals, she added another four goals to her goal kicking tally, but it was Cara Dunshea who was the best player on the ground.
Sophie Cachia was Caroline Springs’ leading goal kicker, she finished the game with two goals to her name.
Keilor continued their unbeaten run, reaffirming their status as the team to beat this season after defeating Craigieburn by 214-points at Highgate Reserve.
Brooke Todero kicked eight goals in the victory, while Sophie Fazzolari, Gemma Wright and Tenille Cann all kicked five goals each.
In other results, Glenroy defeated Glen Orden and Pascoe Vale scored a 19-point win over the VU Western Spurs.
Senior Women’s football will be back on June 18.
