MANOR Lakes has put itself a win clear in third position on the WRFL Division 2 ladder after a dominant win against Albanvale.
A stunning eight goal to four first quarter set the Storm up for a big win, as they led by 25-points at the first break.
While Albanvale stemmed the flow in the second quarter as both teams kicked five majors for the term, the Cobras still had a fair margin to overcome, with 27-points separating the teams.
Storm came out just as strongly in the third quarter, as they kicked six goals to two, to all but put the result beyond doubt with Albanvale trialling by 56-points at three-quarter-time.
Not looking to give up on the season, or the game, at such an early stage, the Cobras won the last quarter by two points, but the sufficient blow to their percentage now threatens their season.
The final score was 23.15 (153) to 15.9. (99).
James Farrugia and Ty Priest were dominant up forward, with five goals each, while Brandon Turner and Mitchell Davis also kicked bags of four in a big day for goal-kickers, with Turner and Davis also putting best on ground performances.
Daniel Bartolo and Thomas Jehle kicked five and four goals respectively, but their efforts would not be enough for the Cobras.
Meanwhile it was also a big day for the Montebruno clan, with Tyren putting on a clinic in the battle of Footscray with five goals for North, while Brayden kicked three goals in a similarly strong performance.
The Devils asserted their position on the top of the ladder with a 110-point win against their cross-town rivals, and are yet to lose a game.
The Roosters on the other hand are down the bottom of the ladder and have rarely been in a winning position this season.
Yarraville-Seddon rebounded from a disappointing loss last week, as they flicked the switch on the Power with a 64-point victory against Newport.
Scott Miller was electric on the ground, while Jack Hargreaves was strong up forward with four goals.
This weekend, Manor Lakes will be looking to build on their form and challenge Yarraville-Seddon for second spot on the ladder as they travel to the Eagles nest at Yarraville Oval.
The Roosters will continue to look for that elusive first victory of the year, however will face a Cobras outfit that will be keen to make amends for a disappointing weekend.
Rounding out Round 6, the Devils aim to make it six in a row as they host the Power.
