WERRIBEE Districts young gun Oscar Junker was selected by North Melbourne in Monday's Rookie Draft.
The Western Jets co-captain was selected by the Roos with Pick 28.
Junker played one game for the Tigers this season, pulling on the Werribee Districts jumper back in Round 9 in an Under-19 Division 1 match.
He played 14 matches with the Western Jets this year and was named in the best on 10 occasions.
Earlier this Western Jets manager Shane Sexton said Junker was a versatile player that had many appealing attributes.
“He had an interrupted pre-season, he had a surfing accident just after Christmas and missed a dozen weeks,” he said.
“So he had a later start to the season, but was selected in the Vic Metro side for the Under-18 championships.
“He is a consistent player, he can play across the centre and has the capacity to go forward, he has great overhead marking and is great left foot kick.”
Former St Bernard's junior Ben Ronke also found himself on an AFL list, with the Syndey Swans selecting him with Pick 17.
Ronke played his junior football with St Bernard's in the WRFL, representing the league twice at the Junior Metro Championships.
