OVER the first two weeks of the WRFL Junior Final Series there has been a heightened number of incidents that don’t reflect the behavioural standards that are expected within the WRFL.
These issues range from:-
- Poor spectator behaviour
- Poor on field behaviour resulting in Tribunal suspensions
- Breaches of Coaches Codes of Conduct
- Breaches of the Vilification and Discrimination Policy
- Parent’s reacting to Finals wins in a way that completely disregards the feelings of the kids that have just played, given their all and fallen just short of finals success
- No regard for the spirit of the game
- Umpire abuse and disputing of decisions
The WRFL has dealt with some of these issues directly with clubs.
However we ask that leading into the final two weeks of the Junior Finals, which includes 19 Grand Finals, that all members of the WRFL community, take a moment to think about the reasons in which we are all attending the finals, the impact unnecessary behaviour might have on the people playing the game they love or supporting the ones they love.
