THE Newport Football Club is encouraging the WRFL footy community and the wider public to come along to its first home game of the 2016 season.
The club has been involved with the junior competition for more than 10 years and this year have introduced a senior team for the first time.
The Power’s senior side came close to beating Tarneit last week and will look to bounce back against Braybrook on Saturday.
The schedule for the day’s events include:
8.30am-10.30am: Auskick commences and the canteen is open.
9am-10am: Net Set Go commences.
12pm: The Reserves game begins.
1.30pm: Playing-coach Mark Williams will introduce his coaching panel and leadership group before the match.
2.05pm: Auskick/Junior Mascots will lead the senior team onto the oval.
2.10pm: 300-Game AFL player and Newport’s #1 ticket holder, Mick Martyn, will toss the coin at the start of the match.
2.15pm: Senior game starts.
3.10pm: Under-9 grid game will be played at half-time interval.
3pm-3.30pm: Newport Power Netball display match will begin at half time.
4.40pm: Approximate end to senior’s game.
4.40pm-8pm: Post-game hospitality in the club rooms. Food/Drink/Entertainment.
Canteen will be open from 8.30am to 8pm and the bar will be open from 12noon onwards.
