STAR recruits, league and club officials joined sponsors and supporters of the WRFL for the 2016 Season Launch on Wednesday night.
About 150 people packed the Yarraville Club to help kick off the new season.
Special guests included Western Bulldogs vice-president and women’s football advocate Susan Alberti, Deer Park star Brendan Fevola, Newport Power senior coach Mark Williams and Interleague coach Anthony Eames.

Hosted by Kevin Hillier, guests were treated to a two-course meal and a preview of what’s to come this year.
Ms Alberti spoke about female participation and the important role women of all ages play in our great game.
WRFL president Bruce Mildenhall also announced the league would have a new president at the half way mark of the season after deciding to take an extended trip overseas.
He has been president of the board for the past two seasons.
DUO ADD STAR POWER TO SEASON LAUNCH
New senior Interleague coach Anthony Eames also spoke about his intentions for the senior group and how things are progressing towards the May 21st match against the Ballarat Football League.
A Life Member presentation member was made too Sharyn Grima and Michael Psaila.
While Graeme Hodgart, Paul Battaglia, David Orchard and Paul Muir were also honoured with 30-Game Life Membership.
The 2016 WRFL Season officially begins on this weekend, with seniors playing on Saturday and all the juniors participating in their first matches on Sunday.
