ST ALBANS coach Fabian Carelli believes his new team have done enough work over summer to improve their position in the Division 1 competition this year.
Carelli said the club has focussed on fitness during pre-season and was looking forward to seeing all their hard work come to fruition in its Round 1 match with Hoppers Crossing on Saturday.

How has the pre-season been: “We had a big focus on our fitness base levels this year after it was thought that the group collectively needed to have a better fitness base,” senior coach Fabian Carelli said.
“The group as a whole have handled this really well and I am looking forward to this focus come to fruition.
“Obviously as a new coach coming on board, introducing a new style of play and standards has been the other focus for this group.
“The players have relished the changes we have made as coaches and really embraced the style we are trying to introduce.”
Expectations this season: “Improve our standards and competitiveness in all our games,” Carelli said.
“Like any group\club at this time of year after coming off a long pre-season, we believe we have the ability to climb the ladder and push for a finals spot.
“They understand they let a few chances slip last year in close games which cost the team a finals spot and we are out to make a statement this year.”
