FOOTBALL Clubs across the Western Region Football League have been encouraged to apply for the Defibrillators for Sporting Clubs and Facilities Program for the chance to get an Automatic External Defibrillator for their club.
The program gives sporting clubs in the region the opportunity to acquire an AED for their facility.
AFL Victoria chief executive Steven Reaper said the four year program would allow 1000 sport clubs or venues across the state to receive the critically important equipment as well as the associated training and maintenance.
“With more than 30,000 Australians dying of sudden cardiac arrests each year, the importance of having a defibrillator at every football club across Victoria has never been more important,” he said.
“This is a great initiative and I urge all football clubs to ensure they submit an application before the first round of submissions close on October 28.”
Successful applicants will receive an AED package which will include a high quality defibrillator, basic training and a minimum of three years of essential maintenance.
The closing date for applications is October 28.
The Western Region Football League provided all clubs with a defibrillator about three years ago, however if your club needs another one for a different facility, please apply HERE.
