THE Western Region Football League’s showcase event, the Division 1 Grand Final, will be played at VU Whitten Oval on Saturday, September 16.
The Division 1 Seniors, Reserves and Under-19 deciders will be staged at the venue.
WRFL CEO Matthew Duck said it was exciting to return to Whitten Oval for a traditional Saturday Grand Final Day.
“VU Whitten Oval has played a significant role in our community’s history, and the opportunity to host the WRFL’s premier event in the heartland of the west is terrific,” he said.
“It’s an opportunity for the league and the participating Grand Final teams to add their own chapter to that history.”
Deer Park have already won its way through to the Division 1 Senior Grand Final after defeating Sunshine at the weekend. The Lions are chasing a record fifth-straight premiership.
Altona earned a spot in the Division 1 Reserves Grand Final, and the Werribee Districts Football Club will be looking to avenge their Under-19 Grand Final loss from last year when they play-off in the final game of 2017.
