The AFL Victoria – WRFL “Coach of the Month” for July 2017 is John Szanyi from the Altona Juniors Football Club.
This award recognizes some of the great work being done by local coaches in the Western region community and reinforces the importance of good Coaching in local football.
John has worked extremely hard to develop his group of players into not only great players – but into positive and strong young men.
John is not just the football coach, he is a life coach for these developing young men on the field and in their Life experiences
He involves himself in these boy’s issues outside of football and has helped them personally and has great results with some team members who were struggling outside of football and considering not playing this year.
He is new to this group of young men, and his dedication and commitment not just to their football, but their personal lives outside the Club has been instrumental in improving their success
His ability to see signs of individuals who may be struggling with any type of issue is second to none. John’s ability to be able to communicate and bond with these young men is extraordinary and his values of respect has rubbed off on the team.
As a result from John's teachings, the results speak for themselves undefeated in 12 games.
John’s leadership of the group outlines how much of an impact a Coach has on a young person’s life.
For his positive efforts, John will receive a Coaching Resource Pack and a $100.00 AFL Store Voucher, while the nominator will also receive a $50.00 AFL Store Voucher.
