NORTH Footscray scored a 174-point win over local rivals West Footscray at Hansen Reserve at the weekend.
The Devils were in full control of the contest throughout the midfield and created ample space to move the ball to their forward line taking out a substantial victory.
The West Footscray Roosters were restricted to only one goal after half-time being consistently outmanoeuvred by the determined Devils.
Returning players for North Footscray included Lucas Hall, who played his first game since suffering a broken jaw earlier this season, and Andrew Walsh who placed among the Devil’s best.
Tyren Montebruno scored six goals for North Footscray whilst Jordan Lampi’s stellar performance in the midfield and three-goal finish landed him best on ground honours.
Kamtorn Kenny-Jones, Corey Irving and Kane Liossis were the goal-scorers for West Footscray and Zachary Hore was named best player on the field.
The assertive victory was a redeeming comeback for North Footscray who suffered their first defeat of the season in Round 9 to Yarraville Seddon.
Manor Lakes fought to maintain third place on the ladder with a bold 44-point win over Albanvale after trailing by one-point at halftime.
Nathan Montague shone with four goals followed closely by Brandon Turner and Ty Priest who kicked six goals between them while William Finlay played a crucial role, winning the contested ball through the midfield.
David Azzopardi kicked three goals for the Albanvale Cobras and David Briscoe remained consistent despite tough conditions, named among the best on field for the third consecutive week.
Round 11 will kick off with West Footscray seeking their second win of the season against Albanvale whilst Manor Lakes takes on Yarraville-Seddon and Newport Power goes up against North Footscray.
