THREE promising WRFL talents have been selected in the initial Under-18 Vic Metro side.
Spotswood’s Lachlan Fogarty, Caroline Springs tall Tristan Xerri and St Albans star Buku Khamis have been selected in the 47-man squad ahead of next month’s NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.
The talented trio have all been involved with TAC Cup team the Western Jets this year.
Fogarty, who has played all is junior football with Spotswood, is a highly-rated midfielder and was named in the Jets’ best in the two occasions he played at TAC Cup level this season.
He has also been involved in the AIS-AFL Academy and has been playing school footy with St Kevin’s.
Xerri played in the Lakers’ Division 2 Senior and Under-17 premierships in 2016.
This year he has played in four Western Jets games and has kicked two goals.
Khamis has also impressed this year. The talented young gun has kicked seven goals from his six games and has caught the attention of several AFL recruiters with his athletic ability.
The Vic Metro squad of 47 players will be reduced in the weeks leading-up to the Championships.
Vic Metro will take on Western Australia on June 18 at Domain Stadium, Vic Country on June 24 at Punt Road Oval, South Australia on June 30 at Etihad Stadium and the Allies on July 5 at Simonds Stadium.
