IT was a clean sweep for Hoppers Crossing on Good Friday, with the Warriors defeating St Albans in both the Seniors and Reserves.
First-up, it was the the defending premiers, Hoppers Crossing, who unfurled their Reserves premiership flag.
In front of their home crowd, the Warriors defeated the Saints by eight points.
Hoppers Crossing came out firing, booting four goals to none in the opening quarter. It was more of the same in the second term, witht the Warriors holding on to an 18-point lead.
In the third term they continued to control play and looked like securing their first win of 2017. However they didn't have it all their own way in the final quarter, with St Albans almost snatching an unlikely victory.
Despite holding Hoppers Crossing to just one point in the final term, and kicking three goals of their own, it wasn't to be for St Albans, with the Warriors doing just enough to win the match.
The final score was 6.11. 47 to 5.9. 39.
In the Seniors match, it was one-way traffic, with Hoppers Crossing winning by 65-points.
The margin was just 20-points at the main break, but a 10 goal to two second half meant the Warriors were able to score a comfortable win.
The final score was 16.11. 107 to 6.6. 42.
Jordan Mead and Adam Polan led the way for the home side, the duo each kicked three goals, while Jackson Viola and Jordan Staley also kicked two apiece.
For St Albans, Dion Hill was the main target up forward, he kicked three goals.
