THE Western Region Football League will battle with the Northern Football League in 2017 as part of the WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships.
To be held on the weekend of May 13-14, the match will see some of the best players from both leagues go head-to-head.
In its second year, 32 country and metropolitan leagues will compete.
The WRFL moved up in the rankings, after a thrilling three-point win over the Ballarat Football League at Whitten Oval earlier this year. The NFL lost its match against the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League.
The NFL will host the 2017 match at a to be decided venue.
