For the 2017 season, AFL Victoria has mandated a maximum of 48 points per team, with individual leagues free to set their own points cap at 48 points or fewer.
The views of all clubs fielding senior teams were canvassed earlier this month in order to inform the WRFL Board’s determination.
The board has also endorsed a reduction in the total team points for all WRFL clubs to 45 points.
Finally, as part of a total club sustainability package, AFL Victoria has flagged the introduction of salary caps from 2017 onwards, to complement the Player Points System.
The views of all WRFL clubs fielding senior teams were canvassed to assist in the Board’s deliberations and the Board resolved that the maximum salary caps to apply for 2017 WRFL competition be:
- Division 1 $225,000
- Division 2 $100,000
- Division 3 $ 50,000
