TWO members of the Sanctuary Lakes Football Club got the chance to rub shoulders with North Melbourne coach Brad Scott earlier this month.
The Sharks duo visited the Roos’ training facilities at Arden Street after winning an exclusive coaching experience with the club, thanks to the Fox Footy Club Rewards Program.
The tour was hosted by Scott and assistant coach Darren Crocker.
The Fox Footy Club Rewards program is an initiative driven by Foxtel to help support grassroots sport and recognise football clubs and the benefit they deliver the community.
Through the club’s relationship with the Point Cook CFA, the Sharks recently supported the CFA's efforts for raising money for the Good Friday appeal at their practice match against the Burnside Bears, contributing to their collection of more than $40,000.
This year the Sharks also held a beyondblue match.
Sanctuary Lakes Sharks representative Gavin Young said the club was delighted to be recognised by the program for carrying out their on-field and off-field visions as a club.
“Our club is ecstatic to have been recognised by the FOX FOOTY Club Rewards program and we’re looking forward to the whole experience with the Kangaroos,” he said.
“For us, it is testimony to a number of hard-working club members who strive to create a community focused and inclusive club.”
National Ambassador for the program Danny Frawley, said the program, in its second year, continues to reward local clubs with opportunities to learn from the AFL’s elite personnel.
“Local sporting clubs are at the heart of local communities all over Australia and it is fantastic to have organisation such as Foxtel continue to invest at the level where it all begins for so many our AFL players,” he said.
