THE Yarraville Seddon Eagles finished their home and away season undefeated, after a 33-point win over rivals Caroline Spring at Town Centre Oval.
Heading into the game, the Lakers were aiming to cause an upset on the eve of finals, however it wasn’t to be, with the Eagles’ perfect season continuing.
It was a scrappy and low scoring affair for most of the match.
It was a tough first quarter, with Yarraville Seddon scoring just over half their points for the entire game.
The Caroline Springs defence was under pressure for most of the match, with the game being played on Yarraville’s terms.
In the second quarter in particular, the Lakers found it very hard to get the ball down their end of the field, only managing to kick one goal.
The second half is a half both teams would rather forget, with just one goal being kicked.
In the end, the Eagles did enough to score its 16th win of the season.
These two sides won’t have to wait long before meeting again as they will be facing off in Week 1 of the finals.
