ROUND 15 of division three produced some cracking games of footy. In the game of the round Parkside’s hopes of finishing top of the ladder took a minor hit as it suffered a two-point loss to the Wyndham Suns.
The Parkers started off the strongest, opening with a six goal first quarter. From there they remained goalless in the second quarter as the Suns edged within 15 points at the main break.
Inaccurate kicking cost the Parkers in the third only managing 1.6, though they still held onto a two goal lead into the last term.
From there though the Suns found some groove as they kept the Parkers to just one behind, whilst kicking 2.3 of their own to come away with the spoils.
For the Suns, Hayden Iannacone, Micael Newport and Joshua Stephens all kicked two goals with Newport being judged best afield for the visitors.
Martyn Beacham kicked three for the home side, with Adrian Gervasi kicking two. Drew Vincent was judged best afield for Parkside.
In other games, Braybrook seemed to have all the answers against Sunshine Heights only to be outrun when it mattered most.
The Brookers started off well, booting five goals in the first quarter to lead by 16-points at the first change.
The second was all about Sunshine Heights, as they kicked their way back into the game with three majors to trail by seven points at the main break.
Momentum then swung in favour of the home side, with Braybrook kicking another five goals and keeping the visitors scoreless to open up a surmountable 43-point lead.
Then the unthinkable happened with the Dragons keeping the home side scoreless whilst piling on eight goals of their own to come away with an unlikely 11-point win.
For the home side Nathan Smith continued his run of goals kicking another five, adding from his five last week.
Robert Greto, Frank Staffieri and Jamie Porter all kicked three with James Kapetanios being judged best afield.
Meanwhile, Newport Power opened moved a game clear at the of the ladder with a 63-point win over North Sunshine. Mouhamed Elhassan kicked five for the home side with Mahmoud El-Hawli kicked four.
In the last game of the round Tarneit added pressure on Parkside sitting a game behind second as they cruised to a 60-point win over bottom placed Laverton.
It was a comprehensive performance by the Titans. They take on the Wyndham Suns next.
