THIS weekend, football communities across the state will celebrate cultural diversity as part of the AFL Multicultural Round.
Held annually, Multicultural Round, is a chance for clubs to honour the contributions multicultural communities have made to football.
The Western Region Football League is a very diverse football league with senior and junior players coming from all walks of life. This round is a chance to recognise their achievements.
Throughout the state there is also a number of multicultural programs which encourage people to play football.
A new program, is the Werribee-based AFL Victoria Diversity squad.
The squad was developed to help people from multicultural backgrounds fast-track their football development as well as provide a pathway for them to pursue footy at a higher level. Learn more about the squad HERE.
The WRFL together with AFL Victoria is encouraging everyone in the league to embrace Multicultural Round.
